Bacon Chestnut Curls are perfect for a quick hot appetizer when company drops in! I like to keep canned chestnuts on hand in order to throw these curls together quickly. I always have bacon in the freezer too! Or, if you would rather, make the chestnut bacon curls up ahead of time, freeze them on a cookie sheet and once frozen, put them into a freezer bag. This will allow you to pull out only the amount you want to serve! These are always a favorite for happy hours!
2 Cans Water Chestnuts
1 Lb. Bacon
Sauce Ingredients:
1 Cup Mayonnaise
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Catsup or Chili Sauce
Cut water chestnut into bite size pieces, wrap bacon around chestnut and skewer with toothpick. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
Cook sauce until it bubbles. Dip cooked bacon curls in sauce and serve. May also be dipped and frozen. Warm in oven as needed.
