1/2 Cup sugar
1 Quart milk
1/2 Gallon vanilla ice cream
Whiskey to taste
Separate eggs, beat yolks and pour whiskey over them to "cook" the eggs. Beat whites until stiff, add sugar, vanilla, and salt. Add the whites to egg yolk mixture, then add 1 quart milk and nutmeg. Pour into punch bowl. Chunk ice cream into mixture. Before serving, put another quart of ice cream into eggnog in one big chunk to keep eggnog cool and garnish with nutmeg.
Tip: Brandy and/or Rum is also good to use in addition to the whiskey!
A perfect hot spicy drink for nippy fall days, and a definite winner for any cold winter morning.
