1 16 oz. Canned pumpkin
3/4 Cup sugar
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1 Teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon ginger
1/4 Teaspoon cloves
1 12 oz. Can of evaporated milk
1 9’ inch Unbaked pie crust
*Whip cream (optional)
Combine filling ingredients in order given. Then pour into crust. Bake in a preheated 425’ oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350’ F. for an additional 40 to 50 minutes or until a knife inserts and comes out clean. Cool and serve with whip cream.
A flavorful addition is to add 1/4 or more of your favorite maple syrup or even a dark Karo syrup
This is the old fashioned apple pie, with a fabulous crust! The apples are just the right tartness, and again, the crust is why I eat the pie... It is outstanding!!!
