1 pkg. (8 oz) cream
cheese, softened
1 Cup (4 oz) shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup (4oz) shredded Monterey jack cheese
6 bacon strips cooked and crumbled bacon
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 lb. fresh jalapeno peppers, halved and seeded
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
Combine cheese, bacon seasoning and mix well. Spoon about 2 tbsp into each pepper half. Roll in bread crumbs. Place in greased 15x10x1 in baking pan. Bake uncovered at 300 degrees for 20 minutes for spicy. 30 minutes for medium and 40 minutes for mild.
These are great dipped in dipping sauces such as sour cream, onion dip or ranch salad dressing. We bake 20 minutes since we like spicy and the peppers are very crisp. If you want them fiery hot, leave some of the seeds and seed membranes in the peppers!
