Lettuce (Romaine or Gradually add Leaf)

Poppy Seed dressing
Place in individual salad bowls. Serve with Poppy Seed Dressing.
Poppy Seed Dressing:
1 1/2 Cups sugar
2 Teaspoons dry mustard
2 Teaspoons salt
2/3 Cups vinegar
3 Tablespoons onion juice
2 Cups salad oil
3 Tablespoons poppy seeds
Mix sugar, mustard, salt and vinegar. Add onion juice and stir in thoroughly. Slowly add oil, beating constantly, and continue to beat until thick. When you think mixture is thick enough, beat five minutes more. Add poppy seed and beat a few minutes longer. Store in cool place in refrigerator. Make in blender. The onion juice is obtained by grating onion on fine side of grater. If dressing separates pour off clear part and beat again adding poppy seed mixture slowly. Will not separate unless dressing becomes too hot or too cold.
This is a frozen salad, that can be made ahead for a holiday meal. It is a tart cranberry sauce topped with a fresh whipped cream topping. It is spooned into a muffin tin lined with cup cake papers, and served in individual servings. It is a family favorite!
