Ingredients:
1/2 Cup shortening
1 2/3 Cups granulated sugar
2 Teaspoons vanilla
2 Eggs
2 1 oz. squares unsweetened chocolate (melted)
1/2 Cups walnuts
2 Cups enriched flour
2 Teaspoons baking powder
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1/3 Cup milk
Cream shortening, sugar, and vanilla thoroughly. Beat in eggs then chocolate. Sift dry ingredients together, add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, blending well after each addition. Stir in nuts. Chill 2 or 3 hours.
Form in one inch balls. Roll in confectioners sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet 2 or 3 inches apart. Bake 350 degrees for 15 minutes, cool slightly before removing from pan. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
They are self trimming delicious, and pretty.
