Ingredients:
3/4 Cup butter or margarine
3/4 Cup Sugar
1/4 Cup Molasses
1 Egg
2 Cups sifted flour
2 Teaspoons soda
1/2 Teaspoon cloves
1/2 Teaspoon ginger
1 Teaspoon cinnamon
1 Package (6 oz) butterscotch morsels
3/4 Cup coarsely chopped peanuts
Melt margarine in large saucepan. Add sugar, molasses and egg mixing well. Sift flour, soda, cloves, ginger and cinnamon together. Add dry ingredients to molasses mixture, blending thoroughly. Blend in butterscotch morsels and peanuts. Shape mixture into balls about the size of walnuts. Place them about 1 1/2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees 10 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
