Cake Ingredients:
1 Cup Flour
1/3 Cup sugar
1/2 Teaspoon baking powder
1/4 Teaspoon baking soda
Dash salt
1 Egg
1/2 Cup apple sauce
1/4 Cup cooking oil
1/2 Teaspoon vanilla
Turn oven to 350 degrees, grease 8 x 8 pan or use cup cake or muffin tins. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix egg, applesauce, cooking oil, and vanilla. Pour into pan or muffin tins, sprinkle topping over batter. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick is clean when inserted. Cool 15 minutes. Serve warm or cold.
Topping Ingredients:
1/4 Cup packed brown sugar
1 Tablespoon margarine
1/2 Teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Mix brown sugar, butter and cinnamon, mix till crumbly, add nuts and stir.
