Ingredients:
2 Cups flour
4 Teaspoon baking powder
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1/2 Teaspoon cream of tarter
2 Teaspoon sugar
1/2 Cup shortening
2/3 Cup milk
Sift dry ingredients into bowl. Cut in shortening till like course crumbs. Make a well: add milk at once. Stir quickly with fork. just until dough follows fork around the bowl. Turn out on lightly floured surface. Knead gently 10 to 12 strokes. Roll or pat dough 1/2” thick. Cut dough straight down and bake at 450’F. 10-12 minutes. Makes 16
Tip: We usually make drop biscuits instead of rolling them out.
