Ingredients:
1/4 Cup butter
1/4 Cup flour
2 Cups milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Dash cayenne
1/2 Cup toasted slivered almonds
1-3 oz. jar pimiento pieces drained
2-10 oz. packages frozen asparagus or 1 pound fresh asparagus (cooked until just tender)
2 Hard cooked eggs (sliced)
1/2 Cup grated Swiss cheese
Paprika
Melt butter and stir in flour; add milk gradually. Stirring constantly until thickened. Add salt, pepper, cayenne, almonds and pimientos. Layer asparagus, egg slices, and cream sauce in buttered 7 x 11 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese and paprika. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is melted. Serves 6 to 8.
