Ingredients:
8 Turnips peeled & sliced (2 1/2 lbs.)
1 Cup water
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1/4 Cup chopped onions
2 Tablespoon butter, melted
1/4 Cup milk
2 Large eggs, beaten
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1/4 Teaspoon pepper
Combine first 3 ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Cover and cook 40 minutes or until tender, drain. Beat turnips with electric mixer 5 minute. Set aside, cook onion in butter in saucepan over med. high heat, stirring constantly until tender. Remove from heat and stir in turnips, milk and remaining ingredients. Spoon into a greased 8 inch square baking dish. Bake 350’F. for 35 to 40 minutes. 6 Servings.
